Bee on a rose

Eurasian Red-and-Black Melyrid (a flower beetle). It was introduced from Europe into the USA about 80 years ago. It is not a pest, and the larvae may feed on insects that are pests, but no one is sure. Since it doesn’t do much, no one takes the time to study it. This shot shows the Melyrid holding a drop of water.
